2026 will see prize money increase to a whopping 1st £1500, 2nd £1000 and £500 for 3rd, appropriately rewarding the skill, precision, and focus it takes to be crowned the British Crane Operator of the year. Think you’ve got what it takes?  Sign up below it takes just 30s. 

New & Improved Challenges

Accuracy, speed, and precision. This year’s event will feature all-new challenges designed and developed by our Crane Test Team in response to feedback from previous participants. Our goal is the same: to showcase the skills required by crane truck operators out in the field.

We’ll have all of our latest crane trucks available to try in addition to showcasing the full range of trucks for sale, from Beavertails to Removal trucks. We’ll also be pulling back the covers on our huge 30-bay workshop, where we manufacture all of our trucks for longevity and durability, completely in-house.

Fun for the whole Family

In addition to the thrilling challenges themselves we will also be putting on a fun day out for the whole family, with incredible local food trucks, on-site thirst-quenching bar, childrens entertainment and music from the extremely talented Natasha Harper.

      Parking will be available in the field opposite Mac’s HQ, with the entrance being immediately on your left when turning onto Crosland Road. This will be clearly signposted on the day.

      From 9AM you can visit our FASSI familiarisation station where one of our crane experts will be on hand to guide you through the control differences between your current crane and FASSI. The challenges will be based around crane operation rather than setup. Rest assured that the FASSI F905/F1050 Techno Range is the smoothest operating in the industry, so you’ll be off to a flying start.

      Participants in the competition will receive a voucher via email for a complimentary lunch from our catering partner, which will be announced in due course.

      Gates open at 9AM, participants will need to register before the 10AM competition start time. There will be 3 stations/course layouts to complete, featuring various obstacles, with time penalties added on for mistakes.  The fastest 6 competitors from across the challenges will be entered into a grand final to decide 1st (£1500), 2nd (£1000) & 3rd (£500) places. We would expect the day to be concluded at around 4:30pm.

      For those travelling from further afield, we have discounted stays available at the Briar Court Hotel. Located just minutes away from Mac’s HQ, simply quote Mac’s when booking over the phone to receive the discounted rate of £81 for single occupancy or £91 for a double.
