Modern Slavery Statement
Introduction
This Modern Slavery Statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps taken by Macs Truck Sales Ltd during the financial year 2025–2026 to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains.
Macs Truck Sales Ltd is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity. We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are dedicated to acting transparently and responsibly across all areas of our operations.
Our Business
Macs Truck Sales Ltd is a UK-based company specialising in the manufacture and sale of heavy goods vehicles. Operating nationally, we serve clients across diverse industries including logistics, construction, and waste management. With approximately 90 employees and an annual turnover of £79 million, we are a leader in our sector, known for innovation, quality, and reliability.
Our Supply Chains
Our supply chains primarily consist of UK-based and international suppliers providing vehicle components, raw materials, and engineering services. Given the nature and complexity of global supply chains, we recognise the importance of proactively identifying and mitigating the risk of modern slavery, particularly in high-risk sectors and regions.
Policies and Procedures
We have several internal policies in place that support our commitment to ethical practices and help safeguard against modern slavery:
- Modern Slavery Policy – Outlines our stance against forced labour and human trafficking and defines responsibilities for compliance.
- Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy – Ensures all business is conducted lawfully and fairly.
- Whistleblower Policy – Provides a safe and confidential way for employees or third parties to raise concerns about unethical behaviour, including slavery or trafficking.
- Approved Supplier Procedure – Requires all suppliers to undergo vetting, including due diligence checks related to ethical labour practices.
Due Diligence and Risk Management
We conduct risk assessments across our supply base, particularly focusing on suppliers in regions or industries identified as higher risk for labour exploitation. We require suppliers to acknowledge and comply with our Supplier Code of Conduct and confirm their own compliance with modern slavery legislation.
Suppliers found to be in breach of our standards may be subject to contract termination or removal from our approved supplier list.
Training and Awareness
Key staff, particularly those involved in procurement, HR, and compliance, receive training to help identify signs of modern slavery and understand how to respond appropriately. We are committed to continuous improvement in this area.
Monitoring and Effectiveness
To assess the effectiveness of our approach to modern slavery, we:
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct periodic audits where necessary
• Track any reports made under the whistleblower policy
• Review and update our internal policies annually
