Who They Are
McGimpsey Removals, a family-run removals business founded in 1983 by the McGimpsey Brothers, providing removal services and storage facilities both domestically and internationally.
From humble beginnings selling fish and vegetables in Bangor to what the business is today. The McGimpsey brothers were asked by one of their clients one day to help in moving a large piece of furniture from one side of the city to the other, thus the birth of the removals business concept we know today, having found it more profitable.
Currently with the second generation of McGimpseys taking over the day-to-day running of the business; Melissa and Steven took over the running of the business back in 2018 and have since invested in creating a haulage distribution side of the business to acquire additional logistics contracts.
Staying Ahead Of The Competition Through Innovation
As an effort to expand the haulage side of the business, McGimpsey purchased a bespoke build Removals Truck from Mac’s Truck Sales Ltd – A New DAF CF320 with space cab sleeper, air con, auto gearbox, double sleeper, extra seats, rear air suspension, new 30ft 5 container removal truck body with drop well, painted in McGimpsey’s special colour scheme.
McGimpsey, being a member of the British Removals Association (BAR) has known about Mac’s for a while as a truck supplier that is recommended. Paul McGimpsey, Director, decided to reach out to Mac’s regarding their latest rigid truck addition to an ever-growing fleet.
Working With Mac’s
Speaking to Melissa Gibbons, Managing Director of McGimpsey Removals: “Having dealt with Martin from Sales from the start of the process, he has been very professional and is quick to respond. Martin also provided accurate quotations and regular updates on the progress of the vehicle. We were especially happy with the lead time having expected it to be over a year but the truck was ready for us within 3-4 months. Martin was always available on the end of the phone and is just more than happy to help. Flawless service.”
Melissa added the finished truck provides a high-quality image for the company and that they can overhear the joy and excitement of the workforce when it arrived as to who gets the privilege of driving such a new fantastic truck.
