Mac’s Truck Sales Wins Yorkshire Family Business of the Year at the 2025 thebusinessdesk.com awards
After a rigorous two-stage review process which saw Mac’s visited by thebusinessdesk.com team, we were delighted to be shortlisted amongst 6 other incredible companies for the Yorkshire Family Business of the Year Award and attend the glamorous awards ceremony at the Royal Armories in Leeds. Joanne McDade, Finance Director at Mac’s said “It was fantastic to attend the awards ceremony and see so many other amazing businesses at the event! In a time where there are so many disheartening stories for businesses both large and small across the UK, it’s great to see so many thriving and innovating in Yorkshire”.
The event was attended by employees across the business including management/owners, Electrical, Fabrication, Mechanical, Admin, and Marketing, providing a great chance for the teams to come together and enjoy the evening.
Of course, the icing on the cake is that Mac’s won the award, with judges noting:
- Mac’s is a family-owned and run business
- Established in 1973 with over 50 years in the industry
- Alec McDade, owner and founder is still in the business daily, even at 85 years old.
- Many father-son relationships exist in the business across different apartments
- Many employees have worked 30+ years at the company
