News Summary:
- Joint Mac’s Truck Rental and Mac’s Truck Sales stand to feature company’s largest crane build to-date
- Flagship 32-tonne Volvo FH Aero crane truck highlights specialist engineering expertise
- Rental and sales solutions on display with tailored trucks for complex operator needs
Mac’s Truck Rental and Mac’s Truck Sales will be jointly exhibiting at Road Transport Expo 2026 (Stand O13), with five specialist vehicles to highlight the group’s expertise.
Taking pride of place on its stand will be a 32-tonne Volvo FH Aero 500 8×2 rigid equipped with a fully remote controlled FASSI F1450 crane and L626 fly jib. Designed to lift a maximum of 25-tonnes, including the ability to safely deliver a lifting capacity of up to 6,745 kg at 15.4 metres, it marks the largest crane ever fitted by the company.
The specification includes the company’s signature Patented front stabiliser leg system which is hidden behind the front grille to enable lifting around a full 360 degrees. It also features Mac’s new 20ft lightweight flatbed body to maximise payload, all finished in the customer’s choice of smart red paintwork.
Also on display will be a second FH Aero 500, this time with a Mac’s flatbed body built onto the truck’s 8×4 Tridem chassis and mounted with a FASSI F705R2.26 crane. It will be displayed alongside a third Volvo, an on/off-road FMX 460 8×2 rigid, complete with Mac’s beavertail bodywork.
Two DAFs will also be exhibited on the stand, with a DAF XG 530 6×2 tractor unit equipped with a FASSI F905 crane, and a DAF XF 530 8×2 rigid, specified with a cabin-spec Mac’s flatbed body. This truck is complete with a FASSI F905RA2.27 crane with L436 high-performance fly jib, offering maximum flexibility for the end user.
Jeff Wright, Sales Director at Mac’s Truck Rental, says: “We’re looking forward to showcasing a small cross-section of what we can deliver as a group. This year’s lineup highlights our ability to build exactly what our customers need, delivering them into service through outright purchase or backed by either a short or long-term rental agreement, which allows customers to focus on their core business, with predictable monthly costs.
“When visitors see the sheer scale of what our biggest crane truck can achieve, it underlines our commitment to finding solutions to the most challenging transport and lifting requirements.”
Team members from both sides of the business will be on hand to discuss vehicle specifications, rental options, and bespoke solutions to meet the needs of any road transport operator.
Mac’s Truck Group provides specialist rental and sales solutions from its Huddersfield headquarters, which also houses its bodybuilding and engineering facilities. Earlier this year, the group expanded its UK footprint with the opening of a new sales and rental location in Perth, extending the company’s reach into the Highlands and Islands, while remaining within easy access of Scotland’s central belt.
The Group also recently acquired respected London-based FASSI crane specialist, Walker Crane Services, creating a strategic partnership designed to significantly enhance aftersales support services, whilst also establishing a southern base for the business.
RTX 2026 takes place from 30 June to 2 July at NAEC Stoneleigh. Entry is free, with on-site parking available. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance on the event website, though on-arrival registration is also available.
